Process Safety Engineer Job in Scunthorpe (Humberside, North East, UK, United Kingdom)

Vacancy Summary

Our client is the second largest steel producer in Europe with an annual crude steel capacity of 20 million tonnes and major manufacturing sites in the UK, Netherlands, Germany, France and Belgium.

The Process Safety Engineer role will see you developing people and systems to ensure the company meet with the highest internal and external process safety standards. This will include monitoring, and investigating where necessary, process safety performance, and the development of COMAH safety reports and business standards.

You will be providing advice on Process Safety standards and systems, as well as coaching and supporting manufacturing teams in risk analysis techniques. You will also deliver training modules associated with Process Safety and COMAH, as well as participating in incident investigations, facilitating the Process Safety Meetings and taking ownership and management of Process Safety documents and databases.

Qualifications / Experience / Personal Qualities:

With a degree or HNC level qualification (or equivalent) in chemical or process engineering, and a process engineering or energy background, you will already have substantial experience of applying risk assessment tools and techniques in a process, chemical or energy business. Beyond this, our client will depend on your effective communication skills and ability to meet the health and safety, or process energy demands of a growing business with your broad knowledge of various engineering disciplines.
